Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) is basically blackmailing her friend Matt Goetz into helping her by threatening to release all sexual harassment allegations against Republican members of Congress.
With Gaetz's nomination for attorney general looking increasingly dead, Green wrote:
To my Republican colleagues in the House and Senate,
If we're going to publish ethics reports and tear up our own, that's Trump appointed and then put it all out there for the Americans to see.
Yes..
all ethics reports and requests, including the one I submitted
All your sexual harassment and assault claims that were secretly settled by paying the victims with taxpayer money
The entire Jeffrey Epstein files, tapes, recordings, witness interviews
but not only those, there's more, Epstein wasn't/isn't the only advantage
If we're going to dance, let's all dance in the sunlight.
I'll make sure we do.
Democrats would have a field day if Green followed through on this threat, and it would be a nightmare for his fellow members of Congress.
Marjorie Taylor was quick to attack the first incoming trans member of the House, so it's unclear if she'll follow through on her threats, but one thing's for sure, senators don't respond well to threats. Green included House members in her threat because she's trying is to prevent the House Ethics Committee from releasing their report on Gaetz.
With allies already threatening the House and Senate to try to save the nomination, the nomination is probably already dead.
