Senate Democrats are taking advantage of Republican no-shows to attack Biden's judicial nominees.
Jennifer Bender of HuffPost published:
I see some, but not all, of the absent Republican senators returning to try to slow the Democratic Party's rapid confirmations of Biden judges.
The Senate just confirmed Rebecca Pennell as a US District Judge by a 50-48 vote.
Manchin voted no.
2 absent GOP senators: Ted Cruz + Mike Brown.”
Five GOP senators skipped the vote yesterday.
And then Trump shouting about it on social media and demanding that everyone return to the Senate soon and prevent the faces from confirming other judges “until Inauguration Day.
RPA… can't do that. But still. Some came back.
The reason Trump is having a meltdown over the pace of judicial confirmations by Democrats is that if Democrats confirm the rest of Biden's nominees, there will be only 36 judicial openings for Trump to fill during his next term will fill almost every available gap outside of a few dozen.
Not only is Trump going to serve as a lame duck, but he will not be able to complete his mission of destroying the courts by filling them with incompetent lackeys.
