“I am proud and honored to be a part of such a beautiful piece of work.”

Mayor Michelle Wu released Boston’s second annual “Dear Summer” mixtape on Monday, featuring songs from artists in the Greater Boston area.

“As we embrace the spirit of community and celebration, this annual collaboration serves as a beacon of unity, bringing together residents and families from every corner of Boston,” the city’s Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment Office wrote.

The playlist, launched last year, includes a diverse mix of music from DJs and musical artists showcasing Boston’s local talent. This year, the mixtape includes 17 curated tracks mixed by six DJs and has something for everyone: hip-hop, R&B, rock, and blues — you name it.

DJ Knszwrth, based in Dorchester, said it was “an honor to be selected.”

“It’s fulfilling to have leadership that amplifies the reach of local talent and deepens their roots in a unique way,” Knszwrth said.

Brighton musical artist Julia Chisholm said the project exemplifies community.

“Every artist and every song that is featured on the project has their own unique story. And in those stories, is the essence of the city,” Chisholm, who wrote the featured song “Christmas Gift,” said. “I am proud and honored to be a part of such a beautiful piece of work.”

“Dear Summer” also includes appearances from 15 Bostonians representing different communities, including the Boston Celtics’ Brian Scalabrine, WGBH’s Paris Alston, and Dorchester Eagles’ Coach Beefy.

John Borders IV, co-executive producer and director of Tourism, Sports and Entertainment for the city, said he looks “forward to seeing this initiative grow.”

“By playing champion to artists from Boston, we are looking to amplify a homemade sound,” he said. “This tape is a reflection of the times and an opportunity to showcase local artists who have international talent, yet are often overlooked.”

The soundtrack is available on Soundcloud, Spotify, and Apple Music.
