People who are not here at the moment, as far as we know, included Melania Trump, the former first lady. We have yet to see her on the campaign trail with Donald Trump. He announced in November 2022 when we saw him on a quasi-campaign stop when the two of them went and voted at a Florida polling place in March. At that point, he was asked if he would be seen during the upcoming campaign. He said, quote, stay tuned.
He did not appear in any of the New York trials, civil or criminal. After four criminal charges, he wasn't there for back-to-back speeches. Not during the campaign yet. Contrasting there, if she doesn't come tonight, Jill Biden, the current first lady, is scheduled to take the stage at the end of the debate alongside her husband, Joe Biden.
Melania Trump makes it clear that Donald Trump does not have enough money to pay for his election campaign. She did not want to be the first lady. He didn't want to live in Washington, and he's not showing up for the debate.
If Melania Trump can't be bothered to support her husband, why should anyone else?
