Springtime is also festival season in Tallahassee, and LeMoyne Arts is hosting the 24th annual Chain of Parks Art Festival on April 20-21.

Visitors can expect to experience various live performances and view and purchase art and crafts by more than 150 artists from all over the country. Chain of Parks Arts Festival encourages students, families and people visiting from surrounding communities to join Tallahassee during this weekend full of local heritage re-enactments, street art and fun interactive experiences for children.

Chain of Parks Arts Festival guarantees an extraordinary experience accessible to all at no cost. Recognized among the top 100 Fine Arts Festivals by Sunshine Artist Magazine for an impressive 11 years running, the Chain of Parks Art Festival continues to grow in participation every year.

The festival remains a significant driver of economic growth in the local community. According to a recent economic impact analysis, festival attendees contributed nearly $1.3 million to the local economy in 2023. Last year’s Chain of Parks Art Festival attracted an estimated 35,000 attendees to downtown Tallahassee.

“The Chain of Parks Art Festival started as a small local festival and has grown into a highly anticipated legacy event for Tallahassee. People have a chance to experience art in many different forms, creating an enjoyable experience for every one,” festival manager Powell Kreis said.

In celebration of the 24th anniversary of the Chain of Parks Art Festival, attendees can look forward to new upgrades that aim to raise the bar even higher with each passing year.

This year, LeMoyne Arts is joining forces with the John G. Riley House Center & Museum to introduce a special exhibition honoring local folk artists. Additionally, they plan to introduce a new festival section dedicated to showcasing local and regional folk artists.

The festival will unveil a dedicated Folk Art and Fine Craft section along Tunnicliff Lane leading to the LeMoyne Arts gallery, where visitors can explore the captivating exhibit titled “Soulful Feelin’: A Folk Art Celebration.”

This year also marks the debut of the Community Corner, a fresh addition to this year’s festivities. This engaging space features non-profit organizations sharing their educational and service-oriented missions with festival guests through interactive experiences and fun at no cost.

The Retired Art Teachers of Tallahassee plan to infuse new creative energy and expertise into the Children’s Park in Randolph Park. The Children’s Park promises a variety of age-appropriate activities and experiences for families, including interactive art-making stations, sidewalk chalk art, face painting, live entertainment, and games.
