Trump attacked MSNBC hosts and Chuck Todd for firing Rona McDaniel, which he clearly wanted.
Trump posted on Truth Social.
MSDNC FAKE ANCHORS FROM CHAIRMAN BRIAN ROBERTS HAS ANNOYED NBC AND HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. THEIR SCORES LEARN, RELEASES THEM AND STARTS AGAIN. WHO WOULD EVER THINK THAT SLEEPY EYED ANNOUNCER, CHUCK TODD, WOULD HAVE THE Audacity TO TALK TO BRIAN ROBERTS ABOUT HIRING RONA ROMNEY? THEY SHOULD EMPLOY HIM IMMEDIATELY, NEVER LOOK BACK. MAGA2024!
NBC is not going to fire Chuck Todd for opposing the hiring of Ronna McDaniel because Trump said so. The former president's comments make it clear that McDaniel's hiring was a move to appease and pander to Trump. Donald Trump wanted his former RNC chair to appear on the network and MSNBC to spread his misinformation and talking points.

McDaniel's hiring was about buying access. Although McDaniel was not hired as an anchor or reporter, it was easy to imagine that NBC News would get an interview with Trump while he was fielding questions.
Ronna McDaniel's hiring process was led by NBC News executives who previously worked at Politico and The New York Times. NBC News executives apparently see Trump's appeasement as their path to success.
Ronna McDaniel won't be at NBC News, but given the behavior of network executives, it won't be long before another Trump job is attempted.
