It turns out that many Americans don't have much faith in Trump to do a good job with the economy.

However, when Trump takes office, a poll shows that many Americans do not expect him to be able to reduce spending immediately. That includes some of his own supporters. Fewer than half of Republicans are at least “very” confident that Trump will make progress on food , on reducing housing or health care costs, although about 6 in 10 are at least “very” confident in its ability to create jobs.
Confidence in Trump's ability to handle the broader economic situation is also quite low. Only a third of Americans are “extremely” or “very” confident in his ability to handle the economy and jobs. Nearly 2 in 10 are “moderately” confident half are “a little confident” or “not at all confident”.
It's like many Americans remember Trump's last time in office and expect him to screw it up.
The poll gives a very different view than what the Republicans and the media want to believe.The idea that Trump somehow became popular and has a mandate was a GOP construct pushed by the media.
Six out of ten voters who said the economy was their most important issue voted for Trump, and what happened? Did they all suddenly wake up and realize who they voted for, or were they voting against Biden? Was the economy an excuse to avoid voting for a black woman?
Only the people who voted know the honest answer, but Republicans and Trump are on a different planet if they think the country is going to get behind and support their agenda, and things could get ugly fast.
