There are plenty of places to look locally for the perfect gift for just about anyone in your life.

Whether you are shopping for a bookworm, sports fan, the family foodie, or anyone in between, this guide has gift ideas for friends and family of all ages and interests, all while supporting local businesses in the process.

One of the many independent bookstores in the Greater Boston area could be your one-stop-shop for gifts this holiday season. With a new era of niche, independent bookstores taking Boston by storm, popping into a local shop near you won’t hurt if you’re on the hunt for a memorable gift.

We all know that holiday planning and preparing for the new year can be incredibly stressful. Reward yourself or a loved one for all of their hard work with a scenic getaway around New England for a fraction of the cost. Check out which hotels and accommodations are offering discounted rates this Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Check off your holiday bucket list (and gift list) with a trip to the Seaport’s seasonal holiday pop-up, Snowport. Alongside delicious local eats and festive holiday drinks, Snowport also hosts a variety of local vendors selling unique goods including novelty candles, handmade home decor, locally made body care products, European cheeses, and more.

The holiday market fun doesn’t have to stop at Snowport. Head to the ninth annual SoWa Winter Festival in the South End, which opens on Black Friday. With over 100 local vendors selling specialty foods and cocktails, handmade art, and more, SoWa has a lot of goods and gifts to choose from. Admission is $10 and re-entry is not permitted.

Surprise the theatre-fanatic in your life with tickets to one of these popular shows that will be in Boston until late summer 2025. With  “Peter Pan,” “Six,”  and “The Wiz” (to name a few) gracing Boston venues, securing tickets now could make for a perfect Christmas gift.

If you’re on the hunt for an avid concert-goer, it would be worth checking out if one of their favorite acts is coming to town. See which artists will be coming to Boston’s most popular venues our winter guide.
