Republicans showed what democracy looks like in Florida after Florida made abortion a constitutional right despite getting 1 million more votes than Ron DeSantis.
Adam Smith posted:
One million more FL voters voted on the abortion initiative than voted to re-elect Gov. DeSantis on the 22nd https://t.co/TA4CdFiRfR

The amendment lost because the Florida Legislature set a 60% threshold for passage. The measure received 57% support and passed overwhelmingly, but that doesn't mean anything because DeSantis has tied his legacy and political future to abortion bans.
What happened in Florida was an example of what happens when Republicans corrupt democracy and send the message that the will of the people doesn't matter.
DeSantis wants to use Florida as an example of what kind of Republican government is for the entire country, and what kind of government that is, individual rights will be violated, and if it looks like the will of the people will win, the government will rig the game against fundamental rights. : .
