Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told reporters that Senate Republicans should confirm their position on IVF in a vote today.
Schumer told the press.
Republicans will be called to answer a simple question. Do you support access to IVF for American families or not? Again, this is what we are asking our Republican friends. Do you support access to IVF for American families or not? For many Americans, raising a family is one of their greatest joys.
Yet millions of Americans are struggling. Fight infertility every year. Unfortunately, as we learned this year, access to IVF can no longer be taken for granted. Ever since the MAGA Supreme Court overturned Roe, the hard right has made it clear they'll be moving on. This year in Alabama, we saw just how vulnerable IVF has become as the next target of ultraconservatives.
Since then, we've seen Republicans get in touch with their support for IVF, claiming they support access to IVF, support insurance paying for IVF treatment, and help families pay for IVF. : And then, when the rubber hits the road, they vote no. Because here is the secret. Republicans want people to think they support IVF because they know how unacceptable that position is.
They want to hide their real agenda from the public. But look at conservative groups like the Heritage Foundation and some of the mainstream groups that have led the charge to bash Roy. They speak plainly and clearly, saying that IVF is their next target. There are Republican groups. These are the groups that Republicans listen to.
These are the groups that set their own agenda. They want to get the government involved in IVF decisions and tell the woman and her doctor what she can and cannot do when it comes to IVF. If the Republicans get their way, the IVF services that so many families depend on are gone.

It is very simple. Republicans can either vote for who they claim to support by voting to protect IVF, or they can show their true agenda, veer to the far right and block the legislation.
As Senator Schumer said, Trump and Republicans are tied on IVF when, as this vote will make clear, it's a simple yes or no question. Do Republicans support IVF protections or stick with what's in Project 2025?
Voting is a trap. Either Republicans will anger the far right or prove it to America turning Roe It was only the first step in their war against personal freedom.
