Donald Trump must think that being the GOP candidate makes him immune from prosecution because he asked Judge Merchan to dismiss the criminal case.

Trump said: “This case should be dismissed by the judge. I think the judge would return the respect if you did. We have to either take the step of the appellate court and something has to happen. Think about it. The Republican Party, one of the two major parties, nominates somebody as their candidate, and that candidate has now been sitting here for almost five weeks in an ice box listening to these things.”
Video.
Apparently Trump needs someone to bring him a blanket. “The Republican Party, one of the 2 major parties, nominates someone to be their candidate, and that candidate has now been sitting here for almost 5 weeks, frozen in an ice box.” pic.twitter.com/i26dQG1wwl

The idea that Trump will be out on the campaign trail is amusing because he hasn't held more than one campaign event a week since last year. Donald Trump could be campaigning any day after the trial ends. He has a plane. Trump prefers not to choose the campaign because he doesn't want to. Since entering the White House in 2017, Trump has shown no energy for the campaign.
It looks like the criminal trial probably won't end until at least next week, and could take longer depending on when the jury gets to the case, so someone should get Trump a blanket, gloves, and maybe a pillow for. dozes off in court as criminal grandpa complains of the cold again;
