Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) refused to commit to accepting the results of the 2024 election, then had a meltdown as NBC's Kristen Welker denied his election fraud.

Welker asked Rubio if he would accept the election results no matter what.
Rubio said. “No matter what happens. No, if it's an unfair election, I think it will be
be challenged by one side or the other. No matter who wins.”
Senator Rubio then said: “I think you're asking the wrong person. Democrats are the ones who have opposed every Republican victory since 2000, every single one. It's Hillary Clinton who refused to back down.”
Welker corrected him. “Hillary Clinton gave in. Senator, will you accept the election?”
Then Rubio spread lies. “Hillary Clinton said the election was stolen from her and that Trump is illegitimate. Kamala Harris agreed when she was a Democratic senator.”
Welker fact checked him again “He lost the election. He said it, he said no, he said Trump is illegitimate. He said that the elections were stolen. By the way, Kamala Harris agreed. There are Democrats serving in Congress today who voted not to ratify Ohio voters in 2004 because they said those machines were rigged, and you have Democrats who now say they want to ratify in 2024 because Trump is a rebel. is and has no right to hold office. So you have to ask them. I think you have, have you ever asked on your show? I bet you've never asked a Democrat that question.”
Welker said. “Senator, did you vote to confirm the 2020 election?”
Kristen Welker then delivered Rubio's speech on democracy on the Senate floor as he voted to approve the 2020 election. Rubio claimed that NBC News engaged in censorship and that Hillary Clinton never budged. Welker closed that part of the questioning by telling Rubio that he voted to confirm the 2020 election, Hillary Clinton acknowledged, and there was no censorship.

One of the good things Kristen Welker did on Meet The Press was ask her guests if they would accept the results of the 2924 election. He does this not as a crazy question, but as a way to inform the American people where the candidates and elected officials stand on democracy.
Republicans can't seem to handle being questioned about their anti-populist stances. Rubio tried to get past Welker with an invasion of lies, but he kept repeating the basic facts. Repetition of facts is one of the best ways to weaken a lie.
Kristen Welker has gotten a lot of flak as host of Meet The Press, but one of the things she's done well is keep the issue of democracy a constant part of the guests' questions.
