Axios reports.

Relations between the GOP rivals remain frosty, but Trump could choose Haley if he believed she would help him win the presidency, avoid possible jail time and cover tens of millions in legal bills if he lost.

Republicans close to both campaigns believe it is in Haley and Trump's mutual interest to reconcile, despite their bitter battle in the GOP primaries and their differing views on some big issues.

Trump is scrambling to make up for a fundraising disadvantage against President Biden and pay legal fees. Meanwhile, Haley has deep ties to donors who are wary of the former president.

You have to call it what it is. Trump would sell Haley a ticket as long as he covered her legal bills and helped her avoid jail. The question is, what would Hale get out of such a deal?

In case of losing the ticket in November, ex-ambassador Haley will be charged. His political career and future presidential campaigns will be destroyed, and he will be saddled with the liability known as Donald Trump.

The Trump campaign appears to be floating the story to try to bring Haley and her supporters back into the fold, an acknowledgment that the former president is struggling to unify the Republican Party.

Trump has already offered to sell American energy policy to oil companies for $1 billion. Apparently, he's so desperate for cash that he's willing to sell his vice presidential slot on the Republican ticket to pay his legal bills. Running for president is his only source of income, and without campaigning or running for office, he won't be able to afford his lawyers.

The situation within the Republican Party looks even worse than previously thought, as everything seems to be selling out to cover Trump's bills.
