Donald Trump is afraid to testify, and he used the wiretapping order as an excuse not to testify. When the judge withdrew his excuse, the former president dodged the question as if someone had put fresh vegetables on his dinner plate.

Journalists can stop the question. Donald Trump is not going to testify. He never intended to testify, but thought it would be good for his re-election campaign if he said he wasn't allowed to testify.
