Woman Nervous for Dachshund’s First Day Care Visit Gets Unexpected Surprise

Parents always worry when sending their kids off to school and it’s no different for pet owners who drop their dogs off at day care.

Thoughts will race through owners’ minds about whether or not their fur babies will make friends and if they’re having a terrible time. At least that’s what went through TikTok user @deannaf100’s mind.

In a January 10 TikTok video, this dachshund owner was nervous about sending her new pup to doggy day care. The text on the video reads: “Hoping Toffee’s first day at doggy day care is good and all the pups are nice to her.”

Much to this owner’s surprise, Toffee already had that doggy day care wrapped around her paws. She was dominating the whole place in no time.

The clip shows Toffee running around the day care with two other small dogs or as the owner put it in the video, she was “fluffin sh*t up.”

Even though Toffee was the smallest of the three, that didn’t stop her. She was jumping on top of them and keeping up with these speedy little dogs, which is quite impressive considering she is young. The owner only brought her home back in October.

Another sign that she was a happy dog having the time of her life is that her tail was wagging the entire time. Safe to say she had no problem making friends and she’ll be back again for round two.

The adorable clip had nearly 10,000 views and 226 likes. Newsweek reached out to @deannaf100 via TikTok for additional comment.

Doggy Day Care

Plenty of dog owners turn to day care to house their pups while they work long hours or if they have an unpredictable schedule. While every dog’s needs are different, there are benefits to enrolling them in a doggy day care. These benefits include mental stimulation, exercise, a chance to meet and play with other dogs, and building a routine that relieves separation anxiety and boredom, the American Kennel Club (AKC) reported.

But how do you know your dog is enjoying day care after you get into the routine of dropping them off? The AKC said the first positive sign is that they come home tired, but happy. It shouldn’t be a struggle to get them out of the house and go to the day care either. The best indicator will be knowing you can leave them there without feeling any guilt.
